How Do You Play?

It all starts with a group of between 4-8 friends. Each player begins the game with a hand of 5 Gadgets while a dark deck of Omens sits ominously in the center of the table. The oldest player starts their turn and draws a new Gadget to add to their hand. Following that, they may now deploy one of the Gadgets in their hand against another player... or all of them. Depends on the card. The turn then moves clockwise around the table, with a player drawing a new Gadget before using one.The goal of Gentle Jack is to earn as many Gadgets as you can throughout the game and be the player left standing with the fattest hand by the time the Gadget deck is depleted.

How do you earn Gadgets?

The game rewards bravery and punishes cowardice.Complete the challenges set before you and you'll occasionally be rewarded with a bigger arsenal to wreak havoc on your friends.

What about the Omens?

The Omens may look gorgeous but they are more than just decoration.Throughout the game, players will be forced to draw from the dark deck and resolve an Omen card — and this is typically not a good thing for the player in question.

Who We Are

We are a small team and Gentle Jack is our very first venture into game design and it's important to be honest and transparent in that regard. That being said, we love this game and we believe you'll love it too, which is why we are so excited to get each and every backer their copy as early as humanly possible.To mitigate unforeseen complications and shipping delays, we've given ourselves a long runway of 10 months and we're determined to live up to that timeline, hopefully delivering each and every copy earlier if all goes well. As we always say — it's better to underpromise and overdeliver.The game will be manufactured by Ad Magic, the very same experts who produced games like Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard and many more. We've also lined up fulfillment partners in North America and Europe to ensure a smooth and reliable process for our backers. We have dedicated a lot of time to meeting with these fulfillment partners and doing our research in order to help us make the right decisions there and we believe we have found the perfect partners that share our commitment to a smooth and informed fulfillment process.With Gentle Jack, we hope to give life to a game studio that makes fun games full of soul and we want to build a brand that becomes recognized for reliability, quality and most importantly exceeding expectations.
